Lyman Estate Greenhouses |
The greenhouses are a reminder of the fascination with horticulture prevalent among wealthy 19th century Bostonians. This garden offers a self-guiding tour, including grapevines planted in 1870, 100-year-old camellia trees, shrubs, orchids, tropical fruit trees and exotic plants. The camellias are in bloom November through April. The 1793 mansion (closed to the public) is surrounded by 30 acres of English style gardens. Guided tours are available by appointment.
Open Monday - Saturday 9am-4pm. Self-guiding tours by donation.
