This laboratory was established in 1888 and is devoted to research and education in basic biology. Scientists and students use organisms found in surrounding waters as model systems. Visitors can enjoy a tour to the Marine Resources Center to look at marine animals used in research and a walk through MBL/WHOI (Marine Biological Laboratory/Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute).
