Founded in 1873, Massachusetts College of Art offers undergraduate and graduate programs in art, design and education to about 1500 students. Areas of study for undergraduate students for the BFA degree include: Art Education; Studio Foundation; Critical Studies; Communication Design; Environmental Design; Fine Arts 2D & 3D; and Media & Performing Arts.
Continuing Education and Graduate Studies programs are offered to adult students.
In the Master of Fine Arts program, students can choose among six concentrations, five in the fine arts including painting/printmaking, sculpture, photography, film/video, and the Studio for Interrelated Media, and a sixth in design.
A Teacher Preparatory program and Artist/Teacher and Research tracks are offered in the Master of Science in Art Education program. Both graduate programs provide for advanced study amid state-of-the-art facilities and alongside inspiring artist/educators.
