St Elizabeth's Medical Center

In 1868, five laywomen members of the third order of St. Francis founded St. Elizabeth's as a hospital dedicated to the care of women from Boston's South End. It is now a full-service facility with more than 400 beds offering sophisticated and comprehensive medical care to both women and men. It is also a major teaching affiliate of the Tufts University School of Medicine.
