This State Forest is the largest recreation area in southeastern Massachusetts and provides habitat for a number of migrating birds.
More than 470 campsites are located in the forest and edges of four of the park's 16 ponds. Two day-use areas offer picnicking, swimming, fishing and canoeing. Also offered are fifteen miles of bicycle trails, 35 miles of equestrian trails and 13 miles of hiking trails.
