This is an underground pumped-storage hydro-electric facility topped by a 320-acre reservoir filled by the Connecticut River. During peak electrical demand, water is released from the reservoir through pump turbines to generate electricity. Visitors can take a free bus tour of the area or enjoy seasonal activities such as hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, camping, fishing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
