Located on Country St., this 23-room Greek revival mansion was designed by Richard Upjohn for William Rotch Jr., a prominent whaling merchant. Built in 1834, the house and its formal gardens were owned by three prominent families from 1834-1981. Rooms display the decorative arts, furniture and belongings of the three families. The grounds encompass a rose garden, a wild flower walk, and a formal cutting garden. Open daily 10am-4pm in June through December. Tuesday - Sunday 10am-4pm the rest of the year.
