Located on Tyringham Road, Santarella was the studio of Sir Henry Hudson Kitson, noted sculptor of the Minuteman statue at Lexington and the Pilgrim Maiden at Plymouth. Kitson designed this unusual residence, which has a roof that is actually a 80-ton sculpture of a thatched roof. The building features exhibits about the construction of Santarella and the life and works of Kitson. Four gallery rooms contain changing works by local artists. A lily pond and woodland walks highlight the contemporary sculpture exhibited in gardens designed by Kitson. Open daily 10am-4:30pm in May through October.
