Stanley Park and Carillon |
This 275-acre park features floral, rose and Japanese gardens, a map of the United States and Canada made of inlaid slate, the International Bridge of Understanding, an arboretum and a wildlife sanctuary with trails.
The 95-foot carillon tower, completed in 1950, houses 25 English bells and 61 Flemish carillonic bells and an electronic organ. Its imposing bronze doors are decorated with 14 relief sculptures. Monthly concerts are performed during the summer months.
