Founded in 1852, Tufts University is recognized among the premier universities in the United States. Its main campus is located on a 140-acre campus in a suburban area 5 miles northwest of
Boston.
The University maintains campuses in Massachusetts (Boston, Grafton, and Medford/Somerville) and in Talloires, France. In addition, it has affiliate agreements with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and with New England Conservatory of Music.
There are two undergraduate and nine graduate schools. More than 1100 faculty serve a total of over 8500 students. Of more than 2500 degrees awarded last year, over 500 were at the doctoral level.
