UMass Lowell, one of five campuses of the University of Massachusetts, overlooks the Merrimack River in the historic industrial city of Lowell, just 25 miles northwest of
Boston. With roots more than 100 years old, UMass Lowell offers programs in the arts, humanities, and sciences; education; engineering; health professions; and management. In 1991, the campus became part of the University of Massachusetts system.
Some 13,000 resident and commuter students of all backgrounds are offered over 80 study programs leading to bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees as well as professional certificates. These study programs are highly rated by the most prestigious professional organizations in their field.
