Wachusett Mountain, the highest point in eastern Massachusetts, offers a panoramic view of Boston and the surrounding area from its summit at 2,006 feet. The Reservation offers 17 miles of trails, including 3.9 miles of the Midstate Trail, which runs from Ashburnham to the Rhode Island border. The downhill skiing area, an hour's drive from Boston, is the largest in eastern Massachusetts. The Visitor's Center is located on Mountain Road, a short distance from the ski area.
