The first of Winnipeg's municipal golf courses, Kildonan Park has a history that dates back to 1921 - when golf was largely unknown to most Manitobans. Kildonan Park has become very well known and respected for the beauty and maturity of its 18 holes. Over seven decades of growth has provided Kildonan with towering trees and lush fairways. Perhaps its location on the west bank of the Red River has something to do with the vibrant growth, but the benefits only time can bestow can't be discounted. But so too can't the efforts of the maintenance team, which keeps the course's fairways and greens in superb condition year after year. Worth noting is Kildonan's five par threes, four of which play at 200 yards or over. This alone should tell you why this relatively short course is actually quite challenging.
