Housed in the original canal pump house complex, the museum includes a working model of a water wheel and lock, paintings, maps, documents and artifacts pertaining to the history of the waterway.

Open Monday through Saturday 8am-4:15pm; closed holidays. There is no such museum listed, even under the correct name of 'C & O' (Chesapeake and Ohio) Canal Museum; there is a listing for a national historical park, which includes six visitor centers, all with historic displays, none of which ar e located in Chesapeake City...this entry should probably just be deleted.
