FedEx Field became the new home to the Redskins in 1997. Rather than the field being designed for the team, it was constructed to suit the fans. Offering more types of cuisine, more bathrooms, wider seats, hand rails on all steps, wide pedestrian ramps, and much easier access to the concourse at street level than the Redskins' previous stadium had.
