The Museum's main exhibit includes pieces of 40 fire-fighting apparatus ranging from a circa 1875 horsedrawn wagon, to motorized and unique vehicles. A reconstructed 'alarm office' shows the dispatching system used by most large American cities from the 1920s-1960s; a new Discovery Room allows visitors an opportunity to sit in the driver's seat of a 1939 Mack pumping engine.
Other museum collections include historic fire apparatus, Baltimore's revolutionary high-pressure pumping system, a la rge ensemble of badges and uniforms, as well as film and archives. Group and guided tours of the museum are available. Open Saturdays, May through November; Tuesday-Friday, June through August. Located behind Heaver Plaza.
