South Lake Elementary School

South Lake Elementary opened its doors in the fall of 1972 and celebrated its 25th anniversary in the 1997/1998 school year. It is located near Lake forest Mall in the city of Gaithersburg which is part of beautiful north-western Montgomery County, Maryland. The school is home to approximately 550 students attending Head Start through Grade 5.

In addition to special programs such as Head Start, EEEP and ESOL, South Lake implements special pull-out math and reading programs to lower the student-to-teacher ratio and allow for special focus on appropriate areas of study.
