Kensington is located in Montgomery County in the Washington metro area near Chevy Chase View on Hwy 185. Kensington is best known for its array of antique shops, housed in more than 40 Victorian buildings within a five-block area along Howard Avenue. Several of the shops also contain art galleries, potters and other artisans. Demonstrations are sometimes offered in this area, which is known as Antique Row.
