Howard County General Hospital

Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine is a private, not-for-profit, community health care provider, governed by a community-based board of trustees. Founded in 1973, the original 59-bed, short-stay hospital has grown into a 187-bed comprehensive, acute-care medical center specializing in women's and children's services, surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gerontology, psychiatry, emergency services, and community health education.

Howard County General Hospital became a Member institution of Johns Hopkins Medicine in July 1998. Last year, the hospital admitted more than 12,000 patients; performed nearly 15,000 surgical procedures; delivered more than 3,000 babies; and treated more than 57,000 patients in the Emergency Department.
