Founded in 1867, this is a comprehensive public institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs leading to liberal arts, professional and pre-professional degrees. There are 4 undergraduate schools and 1 graduate school. Total enrollment is approximately 6000.

The 140 acre campus is in a suburban area in the northeast corner of Baltimore.

Fraternities and sororities and over 30 clubs and organizations are on campus. Campus tours are available. Athletic scholarships are given in football, basketball, track/cross country and various sports.
