The Oxford Bellevue Ferry, established here in 1683, is believed to be the nation's oldest privately operated ferry service; the ferry crosses the Tred Avon River between Oxford and Bellevue with accomodations for nine vehicles on board. The one-way 3/4-mile trip takes seven minutes; the ferry leaves each side every 25 minutes and can accommodate nine vehicles. The ferry operates daily; closed through December, January and February.
