Piney Point Maryland

In St. Mary's County, Piney Point is almost at the south end of Hwy 249, near where the Potomac River joins Chesapeake Bay. About 14 miles up river from the Point Lookout lighthouse, Piney Point is the oldest light on the Potomac. The tower is 35 feet tall, much the same as the other lighthouses that John Donohoo built, such as Concord Point and Cove Point.

The Seafarers International Union (SIU) training school is at Piney Point, just southeast of Lexington Park.
