Point Lookout State Park

Point Lookout is historically important as the site of a Civil War prison, which housed Confederate soldiers. The park's attractions include beaches, a boat launch area, a 710-foot fishing pier, camping and great fishing. Pets are welcome in designated areas.

Located on the southern tip of St. Mary's County, at the junction of the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay.
