In
Caroline County, just across the Chesapeake Bay from the
Baltimore and
Washington metropolitan areas, Ridgely is becoming home to the urban commuter who is willing to trade a couple of hours of highway driving for the quality of life offered by the Eastern Shore rural village community. It lies just off Hwy 404 at the intersection of Hwys 480 and 312 near
Boonsboro, close to the Delaware border.
The Ridgely House, which serves as the town office, dates back to 1867 and showcases a modest collection of historical memorabilia open to the public.
