Naturalistic habitats on 12 acres showcase approximately 500 species from North, Central and South America. Major exhibits include jaguars, bison, bald eagles, and spider monkeys; visitors to
Salisbury Zoological Park will get a rare look at their 'spectacled bears,' which are a unique species bred at only a few other zoos besides Salisbury. Other special areas feature an herb garden, a bird garden, and a hand's-on children's zoo.
The Visitor Center offers special events like a children's storytime every Tuesday; public programs are scheduled at the park's Education Center. Groups and tours are welcome by prior arrangement; admission is free to the public. Salisbury Zoological Park is open daily throughout the year, except on Christmas and Thanksgiving Day.
