Sugarloaf Mountain |
This isolated mountain rises about 1,281 feet above the surrounding landscape, making it a top rope- and traditional climbing area. Other outdoor recreation available on the site includes two mountain biking trails, and three hiking-only trails. Bike trails include two stream crossings, with some logs and some hills; hiking trails are technically challenging, with steep climbs and as much as 3-foot drop-offs in some places.
The mountain served as a Union Army signal station during the Civil War. A public oasis on private land, picnicking is also permitted. No mountain biking allowed on weekends or the period of October 31-May 1.
