Susquehanna State Park includes many historic structures, like the water-powered Rock Run Mill with its impressive 32-foot, 12-ton wooden wheel, built around 1794; the Steppingstone Museum, a 19th-century farm site; and the Jersey Toll House, built in 1804. This passing-point for early valley settlers and mansion overlooking the mill have been restored for public access; the Toll House now serves as the park's information center.

The river offers excellent fishing opportunities, including pike, perch, and bass for shoreline anglers or boating anglers.
