Alna Maine

Alna is a small community in Lincoln County, northwest of Damariscotta. Originally incorporated as New Milford in 1794, the name was changed to Alna (pronounced AHL-na) in 1811. Alna is the Latin word for alders, which grow abundantly in the area.
