A beautiful stone building on Main Street overlooking Rockland Harbor and Penobscot Bay, within walking distance of many stores, galleries and museums. There are 11 large historic schooners which berth in their beautiful harbor. The inn is a stately home located in Rockland's National Historic District, made of granite cut by local stonecutters and built by master stonemasons in the mid 1800s. Colorful gardens feature massive perennial displays. Ferry boats depart daily for North Haven and Vinalhaven Islands, part of the Fox Islands. There is fresh water swimming on Lake Chickawaukie about 2 miles from the Inn, and Rockland is minutes from the Knox County Airport which has daily commercial air service to Boston, Massachusetts.
