Monroe Community Library, serving an area of 880 residents, has a collection of 3,800 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 15 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 20 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Staffing consists solely of volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $500. Patrons make 270 visits annually, and check out materials 520 times. Four percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
