Comments: Portage Lake is the most relaxing place in the world. How can one think of the trivial stresses of life? In Portage, you wake up in the morning and decide whether you should go berry picking or kayaking. Should you just stay at camp for lunch or get a terrific submarine sandwich at Coffins or a lobster roll at Dean's. Those are the most stressful decisions one must make. It is bliss to be where there is absolutely nothing to do and nowhere to go (but fishing, swimming or golfing). Walmart is a full 45 minutes away in Presque Isle. There is no McDonalds, but there are moose, eagles, and loons. Heaven.
