Rockland is located in
Knox County, of which it is the county seat, northeast of
Portland between
Damariscotta and Rockport along US Highway 1 near
North Haven Island and the Atlantic seacoast.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 7,865, a decrease of 107 since 1990.
