Surry Inn

Two gracious buildings on sprawling grounds provide warmth, comfort and exceptional dining to visitors year-round. The main house, built in 1834, served as lodging for stage and steamship passengers during the last century. The multi-windowed dining room with its carefully set linened tables, fireplace and lovely view, is large enough to serve their guests and their friends while retaining the intimate ambiance that makes dining a personal, comfortable experience. Fine wines and perfectly mixed cocktails are available for your pleasure while dining and/or during the cocktail hours, served to you in the Inn's 60 foot glassed-in porch, overlooking Contention Cove, where occasional chamber concerts take place. The Inn has 13 rooms, 11 with private baths and 3 living rooms with fireplaces. The expansive grounds have shore walks and a beach with the warmest saltwater bathing in the area. There is croquet, horseshoes, a canoe and a rowboat.
