This community is located southwest of Kalamazoo between Benton Harbor and Niles along US Highway 31 on the banks of the St Joseph River near Lake Michigan and the Indiana state line.Berrien Springs is part of theBenton Harbor, Michigan metro area. Settlers started arriving to the area now known as Berrien Springs in 1829. The area first had been the home of an Indian chief named Wolf and was originally named Wolf's Prairie. Museums, campgrounds, resorts, parks as well as some of the finest fishing in the state makes Berrien Springs a fun place for every one.
