Birch Run is in
Saginaw, and in the
Central Region. This town is located just north of Flint between
Flint and Saginaw along Interstate 75 near the Flint River. Birch Run is part of the
Saginaw-Bay City-Midland, Michigan metro area.
Birch Run was originally claimed as a station on the Pere Marquette Railroad by John Moore, its first postmaster, in 1852. It was named because of its creek, which still runs through a large birch area.
Birch Run is best known for its large outlet mall located just off the I-75 exit to the southwest. It is also known for many unique specialty restaurants. With this winning combination, it makes a great place to spend an entire day.
