Dryden is in
Lapeer County, and in the
Southeast Region. Dryden is located north of
Detroit between
Flint and
Port Huron along Highway 53 near the Clinton River and Secord Lake. Dryden is part of the
Detroit, Michigan metro area.
Jonathon Sweet settled a store here in 1840. He soon after sold it to John M. Lamb and the residence became known as Lamb's Corners. Later, Sanford Kendrick had the name of the township changed from Lomond to Dryden , in honor of the English poet, John Dryden. The town decided to take the same name.
