Eagle Harbor

Eagle Harbor is in Keweenaw County, and in the Northern Region. This community is located northeast of Hancock between Hancock and Copper Harbor along Highway 26 near the shore of Lake Superior. Also Situated within Michigan's Upper Peninsula region.

Eagle Harbor is now a quiet harbor town but was a boom town in the early history of the Upper Peninsula. All supplies were shipped into Eagle Harbor by boat as there were no roads. Supplies, settlers, and prospectors came in by boat and copper was exported out from the Eagle Harbor, Central, Delaware, Copper Falls and other mines.

Eagle Harbor is a great place for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing on hundreds of miles of groomed trails. The area is very hilly in places so you can have a lot of fun. There are also many hiking, biking and nature trails in the area. Large numbers of important historical sites in the area are just waiting for visitors.
