Farmington Hills is in
Oakland County, and in the
Southeast Region. This community is located just northwest of
Detroit between
Pontiac and
Dearborn along Interstate 696 near
Walled Lake. Farmington Hills is part of the
Detroit, Michigan metro area.
This city grew as an extension of the city of Farmington and incorporated as a city in 1973 under a home rule city charter.
Today Farmingto Hills has many diverse businesses and shopping areas, and it's also the home of several major corporations. This town is also host to several institutions of higher learning, including Oakland Community College, William Tyndale Bible College and an extension campus to Wayne State University.
