Hudson is in
Lenawee County, and in the
Southeast Region. You can locate this community at the crossing of US Hwy 127 and State Hwy 34, and between
Adrian and
Hillsdale.
Hudson was first settled in 1833 by Hiram Kidder who moved here from New York. At that time, it was called Bean Creek, named for a stream two miles south which contained a lot of what was called "bean timber". This settlement became incorporated as a village in 1853 when the Lake Shore & Southern Michigan Railroad traveled through the area and built a station here.
Today, Hudson is supported by small businesses, tourism and several manufacturing facilities including screw machine products and aluminum castings.
