Hudsonville

Hudsonville is in Ottawa County, and in the West-Southwest Region. This town is located just southwest of Grand Rapids between Holland and Grand Rapids along Interstate 196 near the Grand River and the shore of Lake Michigan.

Hudsonville is part of the Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland, Michigan metro area.

Hudsonville was named after Homer E. Hudson, the first postmaster there, in 1872. Before that, it was called Georgetown after the township. It was incorporated into a city in 1857. After the peak of the lumber boom, it survived mainly because of agriculture. This location is in some of the most fertile farmland in Michigan.

Hudsonville is still known today for its fine produce.
