Kent City is in
Kent County, and in the
West-Southwest Region (part of the
Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland, Michigan metropolitan area). You can locate this community on State Hwy 46 and north of

Originally in 1873, Kent City was referred to as Ball Creek, (after the stream running through town), it was renamed Kent City in 1876 after the famous New York Jurist, James Kent, (1763-1847).
Today, Kent Citys economy is for the most part, agricultural, with a grain elevator in town, and situated in an orchard region rich in peaches and apples.
