Mulliken is in
Eaton County, and in the
Central Region (part of the
Lansing-East Lansing, Michigan metropolitan area).
This community is located at the juntion of Charlotte Hwy and State Hwy 43. Also located west of Grand Ledge on Hwy 43.
This community began in 1888 when the railroad came through the area. It was named for the local contractor who built the line, which later became part of the C& O Railroad. It was incorporated as a village in 1903.
Today, Mulliken functions primarily as an adjunct commuter town to larger metro areas, including Lansing and Grand Rapids. The town is also supported by a few small businesses.
