The Muskegon Museum of Art and Hackley Library were given to the city by lumber-era magnate Charles Hackley. Heritage Landing is a lakeshore venue for Muskegon's Summer Celebration. Other attractions are the Hartshorn Marina and the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts.
Muskegon is part of the Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland, Michigan metro area.
