Located on the south shore of Houghton Lake, American Oak Resort offers 7 cabins and 3 chalets that could accommodate a large group or family reunion, offering a sandy beach, 300 foot dock, rowboats, sand volleyball pit, bonfire pit and a kid’s play area. Cabins and chalets have 2 bedrooms with a full size bed, newly remodeled bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, and living room with cable TV and VCR. The living rooms in all cabins have a full size sofa sleeper. Each cabin can accommodate a maximum of 6 people and 8 in the chalet. All chalets and cabins have an outdoor picnic table and charcoal grill. Guests can enjoy fishing, boating, jet skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling on the inland lake. The resort rents pontoons, ski boats, wave runners, fishing boats, and snowmobiles.
