Plymouth is in Wayne County, and in the Southeast Region. This community is located just west of Detroit between Pontiac and Ann Arbor along Interstate 96 near Dearborn and Belleville Lake.

Plymouth was born where three Potawatomi Indian trails converged at the Rouge River. The first settlers arrived in 1825, and named the township after the first American settlement at Plymouth Rock where some of them had lived.

The Plymouth area is reminiscent of a New England village. Kellogg Park with its shade trees and beautiful fountain in the center of downtown Plymouth is a popular attraction.
