Believed to be the largest steam powered hoist ever manufactured, it operated from 1920 to 1931. Weighing more than 880 tons and occupying a four-story hoist house, it could lift 10 tons of ore at 36.4 miles per hour. Underground mine tours are available. Open daily. Mine tours are given hourly.
