Riverview is in Wayne County, and in the West-Southwest Region. This community is located along the banks of the Detroit river off of State Hwy 85 south of Wyandotte.

Riverview started up as a station on the Detroit, Monroe & Toledo Railroad in 1906. It was originally called Wyandotte Heights because of its distance only being a mile and a half from Wyandotte. It was later renamed Riverview because of its great location to the Detroit River.

This colony was incorporated as a village in 1922 and as a city in 1938.
