Rothbury

Rothbury is in Oceana County, and in the West-Southwest Region. This little town functions primarily as a commuter city to the Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland, Michigan metro area, which is only about 12 miles to the south.

Rothbury was originally established around 1865 when its first settler, Nelson Green moved here. It became known as Greenwood after Green gave the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad right of way to his property. The town was later changed to its current name because another settlement in the State already claimed Greenwood.
