Silver City is in
Ontonagon County, and in the
Northern Region. This community is located northeast of
Ironwood between Ironwood and
Ontonagon along Highway 107 on the banks of the
Iron River near the shore of
Lake Superior.
Silver City Michigan was the site of a silver rush from 1874-1876. The town sprung up in a matter of days. It is located along the Big Iron River and also has several miles of Lake Superior shoreline adjacent to it.
