The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 124,339, an increase of 6,529 since 1990. Sterling Heights is part of the Detroit, Michigan metro area. Sterling Heights has the Municipal park system and the Dollier-Galinee County Park. There are two stables that provide horseback riding and there are also five golf courses. There is also shopping in the Lakeside Mall. The main attractions in Sterling Heights are the Premier Club, which is a nightclub that features national stars and the Ethnic Festivals.
